Or any de-googled Android based OS Edited August 19, 2026 So… I’m trying to de-big tech. De-google, de-meta etc… which comes with some problems. The big one is lack of “google play services”. Purchased software currently isn’t purchased (have to figure out how to solve that, in some cases it’s easy in others it totally …
I’m quite new to home assistant. I set it up as part of getting a robot vacuum going in my place and have yet to really use it for anything. Now I’ve noticed that it tracks when the vacuum starts, if it has an error and when it stops. Valetudo (while being so very awesome) …

I recently purchased a used Dreame D10s Pro robot vacuum and I can say I haven’t made a more useful purchase in a very long time. The house is significantly cleaner than it has been in some time and it’s staying that way which is new for me. In order to make it work for …
This should be easy, since paperless very wisely provides pre-made docker images for you. The problem is that they aren’t complete unless you’re running absolutely bog standard and not so secure. There are others out there who have published their own experiences and I’ll add to the pile since I didn’t find what I was …
The choice to go with TrueNAS Scale as the bare metal system was made based on a bunch of reading online and in the end a bad experience with a failed disk with TrueNAS Scale virtualized on proxmox. I’m guessing that setup could have been made to work but I’ve been doing this as a …
So, I have this docker server running a bunch of services through Traefik. This is working well for me as the services are picked up by traefik based on labels in the docker-compose for each app (instead of setting things up on the traefik side explicitly). Setting up a new app is painless with respect …

The projectsend page at LinuxServer.io is great but missing something… like the database config. You CAN stand up a database for this and other services but wanting my docker compose files to create complete working applications, I’m happy to spend the memory and CPU on yet another database instance just for this docker container. There’s …
Now that the drive has been shared to this VM, I had this idea that I’d move /var to this drive. The theory being that it will just work and var will have this huge space to work with (2 or 4 TB depending on the drive I’ve connected). Looks like there’s a challenge with this idea …

UPDATE: I’ve abandoned this setup. Despite the fact that this works here, later it is a nightmare to deal with permissions. Trying to get anything to run on docker on this setup is beyond my capability or patience to figure out. If I was more patient it might work from a NAS setup on the …

So, I have an IMMICH server and I found a bunch of stuff in the uploads folder that looks like it’s probably bad images that didn’t make and other chaff. I wanted to have look to make sure the images actually made it (compare what I’m seeing that’s broken and stuck in uploads with what I …
